I swear we had a thread on this, ah well.

Ok, I've got a new contract that will take me back to the big city of London. Obviously I need to take Wow with me :)

So I'm buy a Laptop for "work", I know the general spec I'm getting but before I dive in who else here runs Wow from a Laptop? Any advice. I don't mind run at a very low res/graphics whilst I'm away.

I work in the UK and Holland and how my primary installation of WOW on my laptop. It has a 128 MB Radeon graphics card 1 Gb of RAM a Pentium Mobility M 1.7 Ghz processor and a 7.2K 60G drive.

WOW is run at 1600*1200 everything on without any problems at all. This machine was the best that money could buy 2 years ago; WoW isn't that demanding I feel.

Now the same spec or better is avaiable on most laptops. Just make sure it has a good graphics card! Friends have said that memory is also important so a minimum of 512 Mb ideally 1 Gb.

i was toying with the idea of buying a laptop for school, but instead of settling for a word document writer spec i want a nice laptop that can run WoW and Half-Life 2 so i can annoy everyone at school with the sounds of 'ALL ON MY TARGET --LARGE CORE HOUND--' and 'BOOM CROTCH-SHOT!!!' any ideas on what i should aim for? lets pretend money isnt an issue for now

Nice guys, thanks.

Pen, that machine I was looking at. Getting quite cheap now, think it's around £700-£800.

Has anyone got the Media Center 2005 op sys and Wow on the same machine?

Ah you seem, you can't make much money snowboarding. So I have to do the IT contracting thing out of season and the snowboarding in season. This my first season, I used all my monies on training. So I have 6-8 months of money making before I had back out and have some fun (and some my training :) )

Gotta love the snowboarding. I spent weeks (and lots of money) trying to learn how to ski at a dry-slope not far from where I live and never really got the hang of it.

Went to Austria with some friends a few years back and learned how to snowboard in a matter of days. I much prefer it. Plus of course, you benefit from the knowledge that with a board you can do a lot more damage to the local 3 year-old kids who fly past at breakneck speeds showing off :)

How did we get from laptops specs to boarding?
